In a way, Blab has morphed from a mainly polite online community that some would consider a nice digital networking event to a platform that [occasionally] more closely resembles the 3rd or 4th episode of [any] "the real world" where:
"people stop being polite... and start getting real..."
I've also witnessed many people who have been on blab for a while [since summer of 2015) begin to back away from the platform and show up only occasionally. Some site stalkers as the reason, others have developed a few enemies and as can be expected [in high school], in some circles ...cliques have arised.
Despite all of that, if you are looking to promote yourself and network via social media I can't think of another platform that allows people to really get to know people - through their voice, facial features and mannerisms - that is better than blab.
Talking to others face to face, in real time, on video, sans the same amount of glitchiness as Google Hangouts or Skype is a reason I will continue to use the platform going forward.
To be clear those who use blab strictly for professional use tend not to have the "start getting real" conversations but occasionally they pop up. Some, myself included, occasionally use the platform for personal use to just get to know people from across the globe.
That being said wouldn't it make more sense - in a perfect world - if we were all civil and tolerant of one another?
Maybe we should start a blab on that...
